In this chapter, the narrator tells us that he's not the only one who's been feeling empty lately. He's also the one who can't seem to figure out what to do with his life. He feels like he has no one to love, no one who will love him back, and no one else to love either. So, he tells us, it's up to us to find out what's going on in his life now.
