In this chapter, Jim is surprised to learn that his mother is getting married. He is also surprised that he hasn't told her about his plans for the future. He asks his mother if there is a girl he would like to marry, and she says that she doesn't have one. He tells her that he'll tell her to arrange a blind date two days later. He then tells her his goals for the next ten years.
