Back at work, Jim asks the team leader whether romance or friendship is more important at work. The team leader replies that the most important task at the moment is to burn the office marathon, which is to be held in a few days. He says that the company looks like a "cc" , a company couple, and that it's hard to find a good restaurant to go out with him. He also says that he's made a reservation for a restaurant that he wants to go with him on this upcoming weekend, but that's too far for him. Jim says that dating someone at the same office can be a lot of fun, especially if you're the first to finish the marathon. The president of the company participates in the marathon every year, and the president is old, so he participates every year. He's a passionate amateur runner, and he always participates, so the marathon is even more important to the company than its anniversary. The first place winner will automatically be added to the marathon group, which means that they'll all be on the same board of directors. Jim thinks that this is a great idea. He thinks that the office gym would be a great place to run, since the office is downstairs. Jim also thinks that it would be fun to have a date during lunch breaks, since that would give them a chance to run again. He doesn't think that this kind of relationship is going to last long, though, since they're going to have to compete to get a promotion in the future.
