In this chapter, we learn that Jim was the tutor for the young man, and that he is now receiving a call from a client. Jim is worried that he has been wrong and that the man is not ready to be a student and a tutor. He wants to know why the man won't listen to him and tell him about his feelings. Jim tells him that he's heard rumors about the man and that from what he saw, he looks like a "player" . Jim says that he can tell that this is not the case and that they shouldn't be in a relationship. He tells the man that he doesn't have a right to tell him anything about their relationship and tells him to keep his eyes closed. He says that they're not suited for each other. He's not going to let this go.
