The young couple tells each other that they don't need to hide their love from each other, because they've both read about it in the newspaper. They both agree that it's impossible to hide love from someone when they care about each other. They also agree that they need to buy each other new clothes, since they can't afford to buy everything they need all the time. They agree that the only thing they can do for each other now is to show each other their love, and they agree that their relationship will not be a scandal. They say that they both know that their world is hard to understand, but that they have to be strong enough to handle it.
