The narrator tells us that he's going to visit a friend of his in Vienna. He's super excited to see him. The narrator is super happy to see his friend. He tells the brat that he has a lot of food for him, and he'll bake him a chocolate pie. The brat asks if he can stay longer, and the narrator assures him that he can. He goes on to talk about how the brat hates being accused of "pulling strings" , and how his family is rich. He says that if he hadn't been so kind to the brat earlier, they wouldn't believe it. He also says that since the brat has been with the rich kid, he has become a much better person, and everyone knows that he went out all the time. He adds that the brat doesn't really understand how to talk to people, and that he won't be able to do so now that he is with the kid. Finally, the narrator says that his life is not as bad as the brat thinks it is, because the brat is afraid of people who are "scared of a strong willed kid" .
