The next day, the exchange program begins at the school. The narrator tells the students that they are all unhappy because they were not chosen to participate in the program. He tells them that their family is rich, so they will be able to make the teacher increase the class size one more place. He says that he will never do anything for the students again. The school starts, and the narrator asks the teacher how he can make it into the class he is in. The teacher tells him that he has to manage the school, so he is on his own. He asks if he can borrow money to buy new clothes for himself and his friends
