In this chapter, the piano player tries to please his mother by playing the piano for her. He tells her that he has been practicing for two hours a day and that he wants to become a professional pianist. He is jealous of his friend's passion for the piano and wishes that he could play with him one day. He wants to be able to flirt with him and run away without being recognized.
