About This Chapter
The new king of the wolf clan tells his servant that he is going to marry one of the clan's leaders's daughter. The king says that he has heard about this, and that he will marry the daughter of the leader of the cat clan in order to have a family. He tells the servant to be more careful with his clothes, because the elders are demanding such things. He says that the old king used to say that he did not want to marry and live his life freely, but that they are all trying to escape the family restrictions to come and relax. The old king adds that he still longs for days when they must fight for power. He asks the servant if he has anyone in mind, and the servant replies that he does not think that the man is important enough for him to stay with. He explains that he doesn't have much ambition, unlike his grandfather, who wanted to expand the influence of the old clan. Even now, he says, he has entrusted his power to the elders and he will divide it in the future
