The next morning, the group meets up with Fried Rice at the fox garden. Fried Rice tells them that he saw little xie at the competition, and that he's in love with him. He asks if they're afraid to be seen by Little xie, and Fried Rice says they aren't, because they don't want him to see them. He runs away, and zhi-yi tells him to hurry up and meet up with xie. He tells Fried Rice that xie has gone off to find his master, and he'll come back to meet him later. He also tells the group that s/he's told to be kind to his apprentice, but that life is his own business and he should make his own decisions. Fried rice agrees to go with them, but he doesn't know where to look for Little .
