In this chapter, we learn that the two of them have absorbed three times the amount of spiritual energy that the other has. The elder, Bei Feng, has been observing the spiritual flow of both of them, and he has noticed that the latter has absorbed more spiritual energy than the former. He tells the young man that the elder once said that he cannot absorb well, but that he can gather spiritual energy. Bei feng tells him that the ring connection between the two is still effective because the latter's body does not completely oppose the absorption. He says that the younger man can still practice cultivation, but he cannot do so because his body is not strong enough to absorb the spiritual energy of the other. He wants to stay by the side of little cultivator, and help him to speed up his own cultivation.
