The next morning, Mingshan wakes up in the middle of the night. He's worried about what's going to happen to him, but he's also worried about how he'll be able to protect Ching-ying. He wants to make sure that Ching-ing is safe and sound before he leaves. He tells Mingshan that if he gives him all of his power back, his life is in danger. Mingshan wants to know if he can go in and talk to Doctor Lu about this. Doctor Lu says that he can't go in, but Mingshan says that's fine. He doesn't want to talk to Ming-shan, either. He says that if the two of them get into a fight, the doctor will come back and ruin their reputations. Ming-sing is all, "shut up, I don't need you to leave, and I'll sleep by your bed tonight." He'd rather be lying on the ground than talk to General Cui. He begs to be let out of the room. General Cui tells him to get out of there. He also tells him that if they get into an argument, General Cui will come and ruin his reputation. They argue about how heartless they are, and how they didn't make friends and heal people after all. They both realize that they've been wrong, and they apologize to each other a million times. They're both happy to be together, because as long as they're together, they can work things out.
