About This Chapter
The next morning, the general tells his men that they have been granted permission to kill and plunder at their will. He tells them to kill anyone taller than a horse . The general asks if he has been lying to him, and the general replies that he has not been lying. He says that he loves the general, and he tells him not to listen to anyone but him. He promises to get ointment for the wound, and tells the general that it is okay for him to have a minor injury, but it breaks his heart to see him in pain. He asks if the wounds were from him, but the general says that they were from the soldier who rescued him when he entered the city. He adds that he killed the soldier because he was a reckless soldier, and that the soldier had been whipped for it. When the general asks whether anyone will judge him, he says that if anyone does, he will shut him up
