This chapter opens with a conversation between a young boy and his father. The boy asks his father what he's doing in the comments section of the comic. He's looking for someone to help him draw a self-portrait. He wants to know if the artist who's been working on the portrait of his father is the same artist who drew the man who murdered his mother. The young boy says he'll ask for help. He asks if the man in the portrait looks like him. The artist says he looks just like his father, but the young boy doesn't know what to make of it. He wonders if the young man is trying to draw a portrait of himself, or if he just wants to draw the faces of people passing by. He decides to take a look at the artist's work. He sees that the artist is using a carica ture , or a drawing of a person's face, and he wonders if it's the same person who killed his mother . He also wonders if this artist is just trying to imitate his father's appearance. He realizes that if he keeps the artist from getting away with his crime, he might lead more people to commit crimes against him. So he decides to put his whole heart and soul into the project. He tells his father that he'd like to see a self portrait of him, but he can't find enough faces to do so. He thinks about how the girl who drew his mother's portrait has drawn a lot of people to look like him, so she's trying to make him look like her dead father . The girl is practicing drawing him so that she can draw him well. She's also trying to practice drawing him in case he gets stressed out, which is why he looks like
