The narrator and his dad are in a comic studio discussing the merits of the no-running-no-talking issue. The narrator is wearing one of those, and he's psyched about it. He's also psyched about the fact that it's "disaster training day" , which means that he can't leave the drawing room without doing something. He wants to make sure that his daughter is safe, so he wants to do something that'll make her happy. He also wants to get rid of the "slumber manga" that's been hanging around the office. He tells his dad to go over to the comic shop and buy some candy apples so that he won't have to explain to his daughter why they're so stinkin'. The comic shop owner tells the narrator that he occasionally sees bootleg merchandise for manga that doesn't sell at all. This happens when someone picks up a magazine and buys it. The bootlegger assumes that the magazine is the "in" thing in the thing here we went . He needs to shoot the magazine down with a pop gun , but the comic-shop owner says he needs to hide the pages. He tries to find a way to make the pages disappear, but he has a hard time. He searches on the internet for the words "chan mask" and "key sense" . The key sense is the key to the top of a necktie, and the phrase "donut hole" is a reference to the hole in the back of the necktie . This is a comic shop, after all, so the narrator says. He finds a katana, a gun, and some white powder in a closet. He says he'll get sen tence for this. He asks his dad if he can sew him some shoes so he can pretend to be a fashion designer.
