About This Chapter
The narrator begins this chapter by telling us that he's been reading a lot about dogs and how to take care of them. He's also been reading about the Ten Commandments of Dog Ownership, which basically says, "Don't get angry at me, don't bite me, and remember to keep your mouth shut when I bite you." The narrator then goes on to say that he hasn't yet said yes to raising a dog, but he'd like to. He says that it takes a lot of commitment to raise a puppy, and that you have to keep an eye on him for the rest of his life. The narrator also says that he thinks that a bunch of classic manga series are doomed to die, because they're all about the same author, and he doesn't think that's the best way to go about keeping up with a new series. He also points out that if a series is going too far, then it's probably not worth the effort. He adds that if the author is dead, then the series isn't worth reading anymore. He tells us to be patient with his new series, because it'll be fun to see what happens next. He mentions that his sister and his friend are drawing a dog together, and the narrator says that they've got to check out the artist's meetings to see if there's anything they can do to build up their fan base.
