In this chapter, Tommo explains that he is writing a love letter to "Santa" , but he does not know who the letter is from. He is afraid that his friends will tail him, so he decides to have someone else deliver the letter to him instead. He also explains that the letter was written by a young artist who has been dismissed from his job at the school newspaper because he did not have enough money to pay for the teacher's salary. He resolves to return the letter if the teacher will give him 100 million yen.
