The chapter opens with a description of a creature called "alta face" that was responsible for the destruction of many cities. The villagers of the whiteout village fought with the creature many times, but eventually drove it out of the village and sealed it off. The hands of the creature were not hostile to the villagers, and so they gradually forgot about the threat. The great maiden asks if this is because of the alta face, but the great maiden replies that it is because the world is overflowing with magic. She then asks if the other fairies from the world have returned, and if they have, then she trusts them.
