The chapter opens with a soliloquy about how powerful the wizarding community has grown in the past 100 years. The chapter begins with a description of the black moon mountain, which has been a source of shame for the people of the land. The three men of the guild have come back to the mountain to find out that Wraith has been killed and that Touka has been transformed into a human. The men are excited to see each other, but they are also disappointed that they have not been able to find Touka. They feel that they are in the hands of the white wizard, who has brought them all the way to the moon. The white wizard tells the men that she has been unable to awaken Touka, but that she will be able to do so when she awakes. He tells them that they should celebrate their reunion even though it is in the strange land.
