In this chapter, the devil summons the powers of darkness to summon his power of love. He tells Ganymede that he will fight to the death to protect him from the salamander and his friends. He is so overcome with love that he cannot believe that he has lost to him. He feels that his love is so great that he can do anything he wants to protect it. He calls out to the town on his left hand and squeezes it with his right hand. The smell of the town comes from the church.
