The chapter opens with a description of the 100 years of the quest to find "aldoron" , the god of the wood dragon. The narrator points out that it is only eight hours before the train leaves for the city of drasil, the largest on guiltina. He asks to be taken to a restaurant, where he can have a look at his luggage. The manager of the talent guild tells him that he looks very similar to him, and that he has a bad feeling that he is in the wrong place at the wrong time. He tells the manager to take his mistress to the topless section of the brothel, where she can "get her mind out of gutter" . He then tells the other members of the guild that they have a husband and wife comedy duo, a makeup artist named elbman, a stage actress named mira, a rock band named laxlis, and a comedy duo named gazeel andlijy. He also tells them that he himself is a member of the "actors guild" and has a part in a popular stage play called "edolas," which is a parallel to the real world of earth land. He says he has never been in love, but that he knows there are many other forms of love. He adds that he and his co-members have a "bit" of time before they leave the train.
