About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the White Mage, Touka, has been living for 100 years, and that he has created a new form of magic called "white magic." This new form teaches that the universe is reduced to a "blank nothingness" . This is a dangerous idea, because it teaches the world to be reduced to nothingness. The White Mage tells Touka that he is a water wizard, and he has found out that Touka's magic came from stealing water from a dragon. This means that the white magic is from someone who has stolen magical energy from someone else. The white magic has also been reported to be fatal to those who have stolen it from a worst-case scenario. To protect the members of his guild, he decides to keep Touka. He tells her that if she is a good girl, he will keep her forever. She tells him that she will soon tire of him, but he promises to show her something she will like. He says that at least they will spare his life, because they have "dragon-slayer blood" in them. To him, they are his "dearest friends," and he will let them live for a while longer.
