In this chapter, we are introduced to a young woman named Lingyuan, who is trying to find a man to marry. She wants to find someone who will act like a "old woman and men" , and who will "hold an umbrella with her photo on it" . We learn that Lingyuan has a crush on a man named Luhuan, and that she wants to "show off" in front of her ex-boyfriend, but she doesn't know how to do this. Lingyuan tells us that the first thing she needs to do is "adjust her mindset" and "work on her standards" for her boyfriend. She says that her only requirement for a boyfriend is that he be "good looking" and not "care about other qualities." Lingyuan says that if her boyfriend is ugly, then it's because he's just trying to get pregnant for the first time, and he was nervous when he was doing his prenatal examination. She asks if she can have a try at changing her boyfriend's appearance, and she says that she'll try. We're introduced to another woman named Bonan, who we learn is a "straight forward type" and a "brighter type." We learn from Lingyuan that Bonan is 29 years old, 185 cm tall, and has just returned from the U.S. where he worked as a pr for a foreign company. He asks her if she's interested in going with him on a tour of an art gallery, and when she says yes, he asks her to go with him.
