In this short scene, Lingdu tries to persuade her mother to divorce Guizhou, but she is too afraid to do so. She tells her that she will be a loser if she does not divorce him, and she tells her mother that she wants to live better than Guizhou. She also tells him to take a day's leave from work to go to her mother's house to get her divorce certificate. When she returns to work, she finds that her name is Lingdu and she is looking for a job.
