"The devil and the summer festival" is the title of the first chapter of Shmoop's "The Devil and the Summer Festival" , which is set in a summer festival in Harumi, a small town in northeastern Japan. When Hiroyuki asks him if he wants the prize, Hiroyuki says that he does, but that if he does not want it, he will toss it to him for his own good. He tells Hiroyuki that if his bad luck spreads to him, then he should stick close to him and not let it get in the way of his enjoyment of the festival. He also tells him that his father gave him extra money to try different flavors of fish at his dad's stall, and he is dying to try them all.
