The chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which the narrator explains that he had told the girl not to go out with Takumi because she was pregnant. He then tells her that she could not have gone out with him because of an injury to his arm, and that he would have had to return to the dorm. The girl, however, does not believe him, and goes on to tell him that she had a fight with the prince and that she was ashamed of it. She then tells him that her boss had told her that if she did not break up with him, she could get a break-up settlement from her employer. The narrator then tells the girl that she should not worry about breaking up with her because she had saved up the money from her earnings at the company. The two then talk about the prince's visit to the hospital and the girl's reaction to the news. She tells the prince that she is fine, but that she will not visit him this summer because of her arm injury. The prince is waiting for her, and she is going to make him her own.
