The chapter opens with a flashback to high school, where a girl named Meiko has fallen in love with a boy named Kurosaki, who is the most feared student in the school. The girl, however, has fallen for the boy's "best friend" , who happens to be named kurosaki, and she decides to go out with him instead of meeting him in the hallway. She invites him to her room for a night's sleep, but he refuses, saying that she is acting like nothing has happened. When she asks him why, he says that he has an "allergic reaction" to cats, and he wants to tease her about it. She tells him that she has decided not to accept gifts anymore, and that she will not accept gifts from anyone else. She asks him if the cat has gotten into her room, and when he replies that it has, she says that she would not have accepted it if it had been hers.
