The chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which we learn that the two girls are in the middle of a fight. They're fighting over who should be in the room where they're supposed to be sleeping. The girls decide to go back to their room, but not before they notice that the other girl, Shirakawa, is freaking out. They don't want to tell anyone about it, but they do want to get back to the fight, so they head back out into the hallway. Shirakawa is still freaking out, but she's calm enough to let the girls out of her room. She's glad to see them out of the way, though, because she thinks they'll get some kind of punishment from the "black devil" if they ever come back. She and the girls are relieved that they've made it back safely, and they want to talk to the other girls about it. They head back into the hall, and the girl, tara, tells them that the school is having a "festival of romance" . She asks them to help her get back into her room so she can retake the competition at the next competition, which is supposed to take place at the end of the school year. .
