He doesn't have any companions, and he's alone. He wants to find his companions, but he can't find them. They all have the same attitude, he says. They've all thrown away their bodies and live only in spirit. It's not fun being all alone, the narrator says. He asks the narrator to give him some bread, and the narrator thanks him for it. He says he'll give it to the narrator if he tells his friends about him.
