In this chapter, we are introduced to the characters of Tamura and Yonada. Tamura tells Yonada that he gave her a dangerous task, and she apologizes, saying that she did not think she would ever come back. She also tells him that she has not been able to contact ikeuchi, who has not gone to school or been at home. Yonada suggests that he take the coin she gave him and give it back to the alien. She tells him to tell them everything, and that she will wrap the coin around her neck and bind them in a pact if she betrays or tricks them. She wants to know why the fight started, and why it all started with a girl, a hotele feira tale, and her innocent idea, not meant to deceive. She says that she and shuichi sensed a kind of monster when they met kaito, who collected a hundred coins. She asks Yonada to tell her everything, because even if she does not get her memories back, she wants Yonada's help in atoneing for the things she has done. She thinks that Yonada can tell her how to forgive for the crimes she has committed, because she has already erased all of her memories. She is going to erase everything in this world, she says.
