About This Chapter
The next morning, the Governess arrives at the monster's hideout to find that the monster has disappeared. The Governess is disappointed to learn that the creature is not hers, but she does not know why he keeps calling her that. She is sure that it is the monster she saw earlier in the day, and she is certain that he is the one who abducted her. She asks the creature if he has seen anything strange, and he says that he has, but that he cannot shake the feeling of seeing the creature real. He tells her that if anyone sees them, he will tell them the secret behind the creature's body. He asks if they would treat him like a celebrity, or treat him as a toy, or even cut him into pieces to see what makes him tick. He says that if they did, he would keep him alive as their toy, but if they found out that he was a monster, then he would kill him. He adds that if he found out the truth about the creature, then his body would pant and he would think he would have found at least one. He wonders how he could have let this happen. He is a first-year student at the university. He has not yet introduced himself to anyone, but he knows that he must be connected to all the other monsters. He wants to know what this means, and if he cannot tell him, he tells him that he himself is the only one living in the house, and that he will take care of it. He praises his sister for saving him the night before, and says that she is also a monster.
