As soon as he gets to the city of blumund, the monster tells Roxane that he's going to make a secret visit to the island of grassia to meet with the king. Roxane is excited to meet the monster, but she's also worried that the monster will use the visit to blackmail the king into signing a trade agreement with the eastern empire. The monster says he'll do his best to convince the king to sign such a deal, but Roxane isn't buying it. She's worried that if the king doesn't sign the deal, the monsters will use it to blackmail him into signing the deal.
