In this chapter, Gido the thief and the demon of flames are at it again. Gido wants to know why Gido didn't get the kind of powers he wanted when he came to the land of fire. He tells Gido that he saw his hometown burned to the ground in flames, and that's why the people called it the "bombing of tokyo." Gido says that he met some nice people in town, and they're the ones who gave him the fire spirit. He wants to show Gido one of his memories, but he can't bring himself to show her what he saw. He says that the people of Tokyo are busy rebuilding the country after the war. He doesn't know what to make of this, but the more he thinks about it, the more it seems like a "superhuman feat" to bring a whole person from another world to live in this land. The rat asks Gido if that means that the demon lord of this land is... um, shizu? Gido tells him to be on guard, because she's the "conqueror of flames" , and he's going to undo the curse for her.
