This chapter opens with a conversation between the three of them. They discuss the events of the previous day. They are discussing the possibility of war between the two countries. The three men discuss the fact that the city of Milan has not yet been designated as the capital city of the new Republic. They also discuss the threat that Milan poses to them both. They both agree that it is time to resume the summit, and they all agree that the time has come for the two nations to resume their summit. The two men then discuss the upcoming conflict between Milan and the demon lord, Clayman. Milan says that he will send warriors from the west to fight Clayman, but that they will not be able to do so because of the hostility of the Cardinal and his followers. He also says that the Cardinal told him that they were enemies of god, and that they would be vanquished at the upcoming council of the West. He adds that he feels that he has been wrongfully accused of being a demon lord by his friends. He tells the three men that he is going to send them back to the west with the three prisoners. He then tells them that he plans to have them return to Milan with him.
