This is a locked chapterChapter 35: Youm: from Chump to Champ & Bonus Short Story
About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a discussion between the monster Clayman and the monster Milim. Clayman asks Milim why he's so excited about the idea of joining the conquistadors, and Milim replies that he doesn't want to get into a fight with the other monsters, because they're just like "demon lords" . He's not a hero, he says, and he'd rather spend time in a labor camp than fight with other monsters. The only thing that's waiting for them back in the camp is the "old forced-labor camp" , which is where they've been forced to work for the last seven years. The other monsters have been eating meat skewers, which Clayman says is a "lovable appearance" and a "cause for pardon." He also says that Milim is a big orc, and that his fault is that he dropped the meat. Milim says that he'll do whatever Clayman wants him to do, even if it means that he has to fight with him. He also tells Clayman that they have a pact not to interfere in each other's affairs, which makes Clayman very angry. He says that if he had another job, he would like to do it.
