The chapter opens with a soliloquy about Rimuru's evolution. He tells us that a week ago, a demon lord named Milim declared war on the city of Eurazania. Rimuru says that his animal-king's brigade has been prepared for action, but that he wants to protect the people of the city. He says that he has lost his left hand in the battle, and that it has been a while since he has felt this way. He wonders why Milim is doing this, and wonders if the demon lord Carrion has won. He also says that it is a shame that the city has been destroyed without a trace. He is amazed that he was able to reach the city by using a "warp portal" , and thanks him for his help. He adds that he does not understand why frey would have attacked the city with her duel. He thinks that harpies are better at picking off their prey than demon lords. He hears that there were four demons involved in the conspiracy to create a puppet lord, including Milim, Carrion, frey, and shion. They were plotting to contact the "impresssion" . He speculates that they have calmed down in the area of clayman's territory. He notes that the matter of Carrion seems to have been settled first, and he wonders if it might be a good idea to move the battle to the west.
