The chapter opens with a description of the city of Rimuru, which has been declared the capital of the "Jurast Federation," a group of lizardmen, treants, and other creatures who live under one umbrella. Rimuru welcomes the other creatures to his city, and they all show up to pay respects to him. He tells them that he has been voted out of town, and that the city is a place for them to "rest" and "to see the town." Some of the creatures are looking for protection, while others show up just to "pay their respects" to Rimuru. He says that he thinks they're going to live large in Rimuru because he has a "soft enough" to let them get away alive. He also says that Rimuru is kind enough to tell them not to kill "scum like you," and that he'll be elevating Gobta's training this morning. The chapter ends with a soliloquy in which Rimuru says that the demon lord who attacked him looked like a "frickin' demon lord" . He asks why he thought he was "the strongest" , and he says that his "draconic milim eye" only needs one glance to detect a magical energy that anyone tries to hide. He then says that if they don't fight, he's all for it, because he thinks the target is so far away that they won't be able to take him alive. The demon lord wants to play with him, he says, and the two of them drink a drink together.
