This chapter opens with a description of the Orc feast, which is supposed to be the "main dish" of the feast. It is, however, not the main dish. The Orc's arm is not regenerating, which means that the orc will not be able to kill the devourer. This is because the flame is so strong that it needs to be kept in a constant state of flame-regeneration to keep it safe. The orc is hungry, so he devours the whole thing. He tells us that he may have been a pawn in a wicked scheme, but he had no other choice but to eat. He says that if he dies, his people will be judged for his deeds. If he is "starved," then he will devour his own people and their sins. He also says that he has finally won the battle.
