About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a soliloquy by Rimuru in which he laments the fact that he has been unable to defeat the monsters. He laments that the barrier has been put in place at the exact same time that the magical barrier was being created. Rimuru says that they are over-powered in the fight and that they cannot stop the monster from escaping. He says that he came to save the man, not to save him. He tells Rimuru not to be so sullen, for the man's death will be painful. He reminds Rimuru that he would not want the monster to suffer either if he had the power to do so. The two men agree that Rimuru's physical wounds are healed, and that he is now able to use his newfound skills to destroy the barrier. They agree that it is a shame that they lost the ability to use their skills before Rimuru could do so, but they say that they will wait until the next time they have the chance to use them. They also agree that they have finished destroying the magical devices that generate the barrier, and they are happy to hear that no one has been killed.
