In this short scene, the Governess tries to convince her lover, Mr. Lorry, to kiss her. She tells him that he should be more careful not to force himself on her, as he is more likely to slap her if she does not do so. She also tells him not to be arrogant, as she is sure that he will come to her when he likes. The Governess then tells him to stop talking about school, and to tell her not to tell anyone about it.
