Back at school, Huck finds that his old friend, Katherine, has been unable to come to school because of her health. Huck tells Katherine that he's sorry that she's been gone so long, but he can't bring himself to ask her to come back because he'll have to find a new job for her. He also tells her that Katherine's "the spitting image" of Katherine, and that's why he agreed to go to a hotel with her. Huck asks if Katherine and Huck went to the same hotel, and Katherine tells him that they didn't. Huck is shocked that Katherine would go to such a luxurious hotel, especially since he and Katherine went there together. He's also shocked that the two of them would cheat on each other, since they're such good friends. Huck wonders if he should take a nap before his next class, since there's so much time until his next one. He asks if he can go to the nurse's office, but the nurse won't let him in. Huck then asks if the nurse is a friend of Katherine. The nurse says that he is, but that he doesn't think Katherine is her friend. Huck says that if Katherine is feeling peppy, she'll be able to get through her next class.
