The Governess apologizes for not showing up for class earlier in the day. She's worried about her mom's reaction, but she's also worried about the Governess's relationship with Mr. Kanie, who's supposed to be her social worker. She tells him that he's an old acquaintance of hers, and that they ran into one another while she was out with him. He's not supposed to help her out, she says, because they're not in a relationship. She promises that if she decides to become a teacher, she'll do her best to make sure that she graduates. She also promises that she won't let her son get hurt in the process.
