This chapter opens with a flashback to ancient times, when the sun and the moon were separated from each other on Mount Kunlun. The sun was separated from the moon by the wind, and the wind from the sun by the moon. The story goes that the god Pan Gu separated heaven from earth by separating his breath from the wind. Pan Gu's finger was severed from the finger of the god, and it was left behind to seal off the restive Abul, the heir of the evil god.
