In this chapter, we learn that the chopping knife can be used to kill immortals, and that it can also be used against a ghost. We also learn that using the knife to kill an immortal is a lot more difficult than using it to kill a ghost, because the immortal will be rewarded with a lot of points for killing the shadowless. The three of them decide to use this chopping knife to burn the kid to ashes. They also decide that they'll use their expert fire-control skill to do the same thing. They're going to blow up the kid with one punch to get 20 points, and they're not going to be able to do it because they don't have enough money to pay for it. They decide that the best thing to do now is to use the chopping-knife to kill the kid and get him to burn to the ground. This is
