About This Chapter
The monk tells Gu that he will not give the Chaos formula to Gu because he has not yet mastered the technique of "firm as a mountain" . This technique can only be learned by practitioners in the "kaifan realm" , which is the "lowest realm," but it is also the "most important one." The monk explains that forcing a breakthrough will only backfire, and his future will be affected. He says that if he had taken the hun-yuan pill, he would have been able to accomplish the same feat three days later, but he cannot just sit and do nothing. He decides to try running the Chaos Formula without stopping. He remembers how it felt to reach enlightenment, and he thinks that he might be able to do the same thing today. He sits down on the top of the mountain, and the wind blows him away. He feels as though he is on top of hell. He grabs his wrist and says that he is going to hell.
