The scene opens with Asahi's father, who has just returned from a night out with his friends. He tells Asahi that she is welcome to join the family soon. Asahi tells her father that she will soon be a member of the family, and Asahi says that her father has always been "stubborn" and will not hear her out until she has an idea in her head. She asks him if it would be a kindness for her to lie to him and tell him she is not cheating on him, and if she should lie to put him at ease, he should take a break. She says that if she turns him down, he might still doubt her, but if she does not turn him down she will not do anything more than that.
