At the midnight salon, Mr. Manette is happy to be home. He's just returned from a night out with a client, and he's been waiting for a date to go to the train station with him. He tells his friend, who's also at the salon, that he'd like to have a "normal" date with him before the "dinging" of the night. He asks his friend if he can wait until after the train departs, and the two of them agree to meet at the station. They're going to go see a dress rehearsal, and then they'll have to wait for the train to depart. Mr. Mannette is pleased to see that they're both dressed up in their fancy clothes, and that they seem to be having a good time. He says that he got split up with his friend a while back, and now he wants to "rub someone behind me" . He wants to know what's going on, but he doesn't know what to do. He grabs a "groper" and says he'll tell his friend what he wants, if he wants it. Then he says he just likes to "t tease the woman he loves" , and when he sees his friend's "tunk chest" he freaks out.
