The chapter opens with the narrator's description of the scene in which she and her husband are having an affair. The narrator tells us that the scene is set in a "nightmare salon" and that her husband is watching her. He's worried that she's about to have an affair with another man. He tries to get her to stop, but she can't seem to make a sound. He tells her to text her husband back, and she tells him to stop watching her so she can have sex with someone else on the train. She tells him not to do it, and he tells her not to worry, because he's going to see her having sex with another guy on the same train as she is. He says he'll walk her home, and the narrator tells him that she has his name.
