The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the "boss" in which he tells the audience that he is the "employer" of "the boss" , and that his wife is "my wife" . He tells her that her husband is her lover and that she should not be afraid to confide in him if something is wrong with her. He also tells her not to be afraid of talking to him about it if she needs his ear. He says that the higher he raises her the more fun he will watch her "descend into hell." The boss asks what is going on, and miyako tells him that she is still at work. The boss says that he wants to see her as soon as he can, but that there is no private room in the house. He asks her to lie face down on her bed, and she says that she will do so. He then tells her to squeeze the "tin squeeze nuzzle" and she does so, and he says that her body is so hot that it must be "ready" for him. She then tells him to rub the "twitch" on her body, and the boss asks her if she will "keep her voice down." She says she will, and then he asks her where the cream is. She says that it is in the drawer in the room next to the bed. He wants to know where he can get it. She asks him if he has any in his room, and when he says no, she says "that's weird." She then asks him where she can get the cream again. He replies that he has some in his drawer, and says he will. She
