In this chapter, we're introduced to Mariko and her new house, which she's just moved into. We're also introduced to her "boy friend" , Mr. Saeki, who's now a director on a big-budget drama series. We learn that Mr. Sakaki's daughter, Mami, is the daughter of Mr. Kojima, the founder of the famous Bat-Ling factory. We also learn that Mami is a cook, which means that she works at the factory.
